Directions

From Sacramento and South of Sacramento:

From Sacramento, take I- 50 East. Climbing into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, you will pass through Folsom, El Dorado Hills, and Cameron Park. Take Exit 37-Ponderosa Rd (Shingle Springs) off-ramp and turn left over the freeway. At the second light, turn right on North Shingle Rd and proceed north. In roughly four miles it becomes Lotus Rd. Continue on Lotus Rd to the end at Hwy 49, a total of about 10 miles.

Take a deep breath, then turn right on Hwy 49, shortly entering into the Marshall Gold Discovery State Park. After ¾ mile, turn right on Brewery St (opposite the Coloma Post Office) then left on Back St. Follow it up the hill to the Coloma Country Inn.

From South Lake Tahoe

Take Interstate 50 West to Hwy 49 in Placerville. Go north (right) about 7 miles. You will come into the town of Coloma and the Marshall Gold Discovery State Park. Hwy 49 will take a sharp right, Cold Springs Rd (stop sign) will come in on the left. Straight ahead is Church St. Watching carefully for traffic, proceed straight on Church St, follow it around the corner to High Street and the Coloma Country Inn.

From the Sacramento Airport

From the Airport, take I-5 towards Sacramento to I-80 towards Reno. In Auburn, take Hwy 49 south. It will be marked “Coloma/Placerville.” Stay on Hwy 49 about 17 miles (the Auburn Ravine is the most difficult part of this journey) to the Marshall Gold Discovery State Park. After 3/4 of a mile, turn right on Brewery St (opposite the Coloma Post Office) and left on Back St Follow it up the hill to the Coloma Country Inn at 345 High St.

From Reno, Nevada

Take I-80 towards Sacramento. In Auburn, take Hwy 49 south and follow remaining directions from the Sacramento Airport.

We highly recommend you print out and take our directions with you. Navigation systems are not reliable in our rural area, and we get a lot of calls from “lost” guests as a result.
