Escape to the History and Romance of Coloma

Nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills between Lake Tahoe and Sacramento, the Coloma Country Inn provides the perfect setting for an exciting family adventure or a romantic getaway for two.

Built in 1852, this charming country farmhouse is located on 2 1/2 private acres within the boundaries of the 300-acre Marshall Gold Discovery California State Historic Park. The Inn features 4 rooms in the Main House, and 2 - 1 bedroom suites in the Carriage House. Each suite can accommodate up to 5 guests.

In the morning, wake up to the inviting aroma of French roast coffee as we prepare a sumptuous breakfast, including a delicious entrée accompanied by homemade baked goods, seasonal fruits, yogurts, cereals and granola. An assortment of teas is always available.

While visiting the Inn, you can explore the exhibits and ruins of Marshall Gold Discovery State Park, enjoy the thrills of whitewater rafting, mountain biking or hiking, or try your luck at gold panning. Go wine tasting at some of the many award winning wineries in El Dorado County, browse the antique shops and galleries in old town Placerville, or cruise up to Apple Hill to enjoy just-picked fruits, fresh baked goods and locally handcrafted items.

Or, just sit back and relax...enjoy watching the ducks in the pond, listen to the frogs, read a book, take a nap...the possibilities are endless.


We provide wireless internet access, free local and long distance calls. Dish TV and laundry facilities are available in our Garden Suite; pets, although not allowed in the Main House, are welcomed - with prior arrangement - in our Carriage House Suites.
